“Kanazawa Techno Forest 2008 Fall,” a reforestation project
October 4, 2008

As a member of the Kanazawa Techno Park Association consisting of five businesses operating in the Park, the Kanazawa Plant takes part in a reforestation project designed to develop the 2-hectare green space next to the park athletic fields into Kanazawa Techno Forest, a place where people can stroll and rest.
Guided by the local forest cooperative, some 50 employees and their families took part in the activity to tidy up this wooded area. As a diversion after completing these tasks, they picked chestnuts and akebi and made wood and bamboo objects using the offcuts.

(Kanazawa Plant)
A Kanazawa heritage concert was held on August 26, 2007 at Sohkei Kaikan on the premises of the Kanazawa Plant. Sponsored by the Kanazawa Art Promotion and Development Foundation, the concert is held at Kanazawa’s historic sites and temples around 12 times each year.
Entitled “The past and future in harmony,” the Sohkei Kaikan concert integrated classical music with the art of Zogan (inlay craft). Kanazawa-based violinist Sakiko Nakajima and guitarist Naoki Yachi performed six pieces, including Paganini’s Centone di Sonate No.11. The 80-odd guests invited to attend the concert enjoyed this gracious afternoon event.
This event also featured a lecture on zogan by zogan artist Kodo Murakami. Guests were encouraged to inspect various Zogan works during the intermission.
