Making full use of the Group’s original technologies in areas relating to human life and the environment, we actively engage in research and development with the aim of creating new products and technologies for the future.
In areas relating to human life first of all, we continue to draw on the dialysis technology that we have developed over the years in order to conduct ongoing research into blood purification and blood glucose controllers for next generation which contribute to the treatment of various diseases.
We are also continuing to cut production costs as part of our research into carbon nanotubes (CNT) in an effort to develop appl icat ions and pave the way for the commercialization of both single-walled and multi-walled CNT.
Wi th the recent debate regarding the safety of nanomaterials continuing unabated, we are providing our own CNT for use in experiments to verify their safety, in Japan, Europe and the United States. We are also actively pushing ahead with initiatives such as getting our singlewalled CNT, which boast world-leading levels of quality and purity, recognized as ISO-certified materials.
