Waste water treatment equipment after hemodialysis

Waste water from hemodialysis should be properly neutralized since its pH often exceeds the value specified under the applicable emission standards since it contains dialytic fluid, detergent and antiseptic solution.
Typically, the treatment is often made by controlling pH with the addition of appropriate acid or alkaline chemicals and constantly monitoring the pH of the treated water. The traditional method of treatment requires careful handling, as the chemicals used are mostly harmful substances such as caustic soda and sulfuric acid. The use of relatively large amounts of such chemicals also renders the troublesome maintenance of instruments such as pumps and pH meters.

The neutralizing treatment under the newly developed method, on the contrary, effectively uses the buffering effect of the dialytic solution on pH and easy-to-handle solid neutralizing agent. The advantageous features of the device are as follows:

  1. Discharged water can be neutralized without the use of harmful chemicals.
  2. The device uses no instruments such as pH meters or pumps, hence no power supply or troublesome maintenance will be required.
  3. High durability and long life.
